Triple Olympic champion Adam Peaty is about to return from a damaged foot at subsequent week’s Commonwealth Video games.

The Video games run from 28 July to eight August.

“I have never had the smoothest experience,” mentioned Peaty, who solely returned to swimming breaststroke three weeks in the past after breaking his right foot performing a lunge at a coaching camp.

“I noticed my World Championship titles being taken away with none management over that, and that is given me a brand new lease of life, a starvation that I used to be lacking.

“It is a very very long time to have out of the water – I obtained in poor health at first of the 12 months with flu, then I went straight into coaching camp and broke my foot.”

Peaty’s damage noticed him sidelined him for six weeks and dominated him out of final month’s World Championships in Budapest.

The eight-time world champion was denied the prospect to attempt to win a fourth consecutive world double of 50m and 100m breaststroke titles.

He added: “It has been an unlucky season.

“However since then, I’ve tailored, I’ve discovered and I’ve overcome, and I could not have put extra into my preparations.”
